Whether you exercise or not, (but I hope you do). It's important to hydrate yourself. During the winter months, most people tend not to drink as much. You still need to keep your water levels up. Many experience dry skin, dry throats, dry hair, these are all signs of dehydration. Once the furnace goes on, it pulls moisture out of the air and dehydrates you. All the more reason to be drinking water.

When you have thoughs hunger pangs, drink some water. Often times its a sign of thirst, not hunger. Your body is made up of 70% water, so keep the levels up.
Drinking water everyday improves your bodies circulation, helps with constipation, helps with skin, gives you energy. If you have a bit of a lull in the afternoon, drink water not sugary stimulating other stuff. (I won't mention any names)
As I am increasing my distance for the Around The Bay Road Race, I realize how important it is to get my water levels up. Drinking water even when I don't feel like it. The extra water helps with endurance and stamina to go the distance. I find myself out 15 Km from my starting point wondering if I can make it back. I drink some water and it gives me the stamina to make it back.
Depending where I am going and for how long, I like to bring my Australian shepherd/Lab for the run. He doesn't mind either. He is great to run with, but I worry that he's not getting enough liquid. I have to hydrate him too. So I ask, when we worry about our pets hydration, why not about ourselves.?
Now I could get into all the different types of waters, but I won't do that. It's just important to be drinking it daily.

I am still working on my distance. You realize the Around the Bay Road Race is 30 Km, about 8.9 Km longer than a 1/2 marathon and about 12 Km shy of the marathon. It's been a great winter to train. You couldn't ask for better running conditions. I am just hoping the weather holds out for race day. There's nothing worse than trying to run in the rain or a snow storm.
I guess I'll go get a glass of water. After reading this, you should too!
